There are rugs that are either small or light that tend to slip. To prevent accidents, it is important to use a rug pad that will stop your rugs from slipping. A non slip rug pads will prevent slipping and add protection to your rug.
Rubber Non Slip Rug Pad
You may have seen those rug pads with open weaves, or holes. There are many of these types of non slip rug pads available in various qualities. There are polyester non slip rug pads, pvc non slip rug pads, nylon non slip rug pads and natural rubber non slip rug pads. While all of these non slip rug pads will prevent your rug from slipping initially, the real rubber non slip rug pad will prove to last the longest. Another thing to note is that any non slip rug pad that is not real rubber could mark your floor.
Recycled Felt Jute and Rubber Non Slip Rug Pad
If you desire your non slip rug pad to be more solid and a bit thicker, about 1/4 of an inch, then there is an excellent quality recycled felt jute and natural rubber rug pad. Here, the surface is recycled felt jute that protects your area rug while the bototm is a layer of natural, solid rubber. There are also similar non slip rug pads available where the bottom is a sprayed on rubber like substance. While good, this is not the ideal pad since the rubber like side can mark and damage your floor.
